Welcome to CitationGuard

CitationGuard is a GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) platform built for marketing agencies. It monitors your clients' brand visibility across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Sign up from the signup page. After verifying your email, you'll go through a 9-step onboarding wizard that sets up your agency profile, first client, and first brand.

  1. Open the signup page and click Start Free
  2. Enter your agency name and email
  3. Verify your email address
  4. Complete the onboarding wizard (takes ~3 minutes)

Step 2: Add Your First Client

Navigate to the Clients tab and click Add Client. Enter the client name and contact details.

InfoEach client can have multiple brands. Most agencies organize by end-client: one client = one company you're doing GEO for.

Step 3: Add a Brand

Within your client, add a brand name, website URL, and competitor names. Competitors are used for tracking — CitationGuard monitors whether they are cited instead of your brand.

  • Brand name (e.g. AcmeCloud)
  • Website (e.g. acmecloud.io)
  • Competitor names (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Category (e.g. Cloud Infrastructure)

Step 4: Configure Tracked Prompts

Tracked prompts are the search queries your brand should appear in. These are the battleground — the phrases where you want your brand cited by AI engines.

Each brand can have up to 25 tracked prompts. The scan engine checks each prompt against each AI engine, giving you a complete matrix of your brand's AI visibility.

Step 5: Run Your First Scan

Go to the Scan Center and click New Scan. Select your brand, choose which AI engines to scan, and launch. Results appear in real-time with progress tracking.
